Day One: Activating Prior Knowledge, Building Knowledge (making connections, oral language focus)
  • Have you ever played a trick on someone? (have conversation/discussion)
Day Two: Five Finger Retell

Day Three: Vocabulary Development
  • harvest
  • fair/unfair
  • trick
  • top, bottom, middle
Day Four: Higher Order Questioning (asking, discussing, reflecting - between the line questions)
  • How might bear be feeling at the beginning of the story?
  • And how did this change in the middle and end?
  • Was it right to trick bear? (moral)
Extensions for Learning Centres or Opportunities to Engage with Writing:
  • Plant a garden outside/inside
  • classifying/sorting different vegetables
  • investigate different seeds 
  • obstacle course: using directional language (top, middle, bottom)
